Apple released its next-generation Apple Intelligence software on Tuesday, introducing Siri AI in beta with the ability to use information from users’ messages, emails and photos to complete tasks.
The company said in a statement that Siri AI can draw on personal context and take systemwide actions, including drafting emails, editing and sharing photos. Other new capabilities include taking action in apps that already work with Siri, such as WhatsApp, as well as adding information to Reminders or Calendar. Support for Microsoft Outlook, Notability, and Tripsy is coming soon.
Siri AI also adds on-screen awareness, allowing users to ask questions about content displayed on their devices or take actions based on it. Apple said a user viewing a sports team’s website could ask Siri to find upcoming home games and add them to a calendar.
The new assistant is available across Apple’s software lineup, including iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27 and visionOS 27. A dedicated Siri app uses iCloud to sync conversation history across iPhone, Mac, iPad, Apple Watch, and Apple Vision Pro.
The new capabilities run on Apple Foundation Models custom-built in collaboration with Google and its Gemini models, across on-device processing and Private Cloud Compute.
According to the statement, Apple is rolling out Siri AI in English first, with French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish support coming next month. The company said Siri AI will initially be unavailable in the EU on iOS, iPadOS, and watchOS. Siri AI and other new Apple Intelligence features will not be available in China as Apple works through regulatory requirements.
