Cloud-computing provider and data center developer Crusoe has raised more than $3 billion in its latest funding round at a $30 billion post-money valuation, Bloomberg reported Thursday.
Citing sources familiar with the matter, the report said the round, co-led by Atreides Management and Valor Equity Partners, has been finalized. Mubadala Capital, the alternative asset manager owned by Abu Dhabi sovereign wealth fund Mubadala, is also participating, Bloomberg said.
According to the report, the firm recently secured a $13 billion, five-year deal to supply AI cloud computing capacity to Jane Street, which reportedly helped attract more interest in the startup's latest funding round.
Founded in 2018, Crusoe originally focused on using excess natural gas from energy fields to power crypto mining, before moving into AI infrastructure.
Crusoe's largest projects involved developing the flagship data center for OpenAI and Oracle's Stargate project in Texas. It has also been selling AI cloud computing capacity. In March, Microsoft agreed to lease an expansion of the Stargate project initially developed for OpenAI and Oracle.
