Bitcoin mining services firm Luxor Technology has launched Luxor AI as crypto-linked infrastructure firms push deeper into the AI and high-performance computing market.

Luxor AI's stack is designed to cover the full lifecycle of an AI data center, including energy supply, GPU and AI hardware sourcing, spot compute monetization, trading of compute offtake contracts, agentic cloud services, and a dedicated data and research division.

"We are bringing our expertise and systems to the next form of compute: AI," Luxor CEO Nick Hansen said in a statement shared with The Latent. "Creating novel financial instruments, helping data centers respond to energy signals, operating in application-specific and general-purpose hardware markets, and more."

From bitcoin to AI

Luxor's hardware brokerage desk has already traded over $1 billion of ASIC hardware for Bitcoin mining. It will now source GPUs and AI servers through a tiered network of partners, according to the statement, helping clients to navigate global supply chains.

The AI industry has led to an unprecedented amount of electricity demand. Luxor Energy holds a Retail Electric Provider (REP) license, allowing it to supply power to data centers, and, through the Qualified Scheduling Entity (QSE), Luxor also helps data centers participate in demand response programs across Texas and parts of the central U.S.

Luxor said it can orchestrate physical compute contracts between operators with installed GPU capacity and enterprise buyers, while also operating its own internal compute trading fund to trade both short- and long-term physical compute contracts. Luxor also provides an over-the-counter (OTC) platform to trade cash-settled compute derivative contracts that settle on various compute-rental indexes, including both options and forwards.

Additionally, the firm offers agentic cloud services through Tenki Cloud, involving an AI code reviewer that comments on every pull request, and sandbox sessions for agentic software development.

"We built the go-to platform for Bitcoin data centers and understand that operators value using a full-stack solution to service all of their infrastructure needs," Luxor COO Ethan Vera said. "By offering a unified platform, we can execute for our clients at a much higher level. Our Luxor AI stack is following this same principle."
