Sentra, a cybersecurity startup that helps companies protect sensitive data and control what AI agents can access, has raised $150 million in a Series C funding round.
Capital One Ventures led the round, with participation from existing investors Bessemer Venture Partners, Zeev Ventures, Standard Investments, Munich Re Ventures and Key1 Capital, Sentra said Wednesday. A Capital One representative will join Sentra's board, Sentra said, without identifying or naming them or something like that.
Sentra did not disclose its valuation. The round brings its total funding to more than $260 million, according to The Wall Street Journal. Sentra previously raised a $50 million Series B led by Key1 Capital in April 2025 and a $30 million Series A in January 2023. The Series A brought its total funding at the time to $53 million.
Founded in 2021, Sentra has headquarters in New York and Tel Aviv. The startup employs about 130 people, and co-founder and CEO Yoav Regev expects that number to double over the next 12 to 18 months, the Journal reported. Regev previously led cyber operations at Unit 8200, an Israeli military intelligence unit.
What does Sentra do?
Sentra said it helps companies find out where their sensitive data is stored, keep it safe, and control who can use it, including employees and AI agents.
"AI agents are now the busiest consumers of enterprise data, and many of them inherit access to data that hasn't been fully classified or governed," Regev said in a statement. "Traditional perimeter controls weren't built for agents moving at machine speed. What organizations can do is make sure the data those agents reach is already secured."
Sentra said it will use the new funding to improve its data security tools, increase marketing, and expand into new markets. The startup said it saw more than 300% year-over-year growth but did not say what the figure referred to or disclose its revenue.
Earlier in June, AI data security platform Cyera also raised $600 million in a Series G at a $12 billion valuation. That followed a $400 million Series F at a $9 billion valuation in January.
