Nvidia announced that it is expanding its collaboration with Meta to improve training and inference performance of Muse AI models.
In a statement released Monday, Nvidia said Meta's Muse models and AI agents, which build on Nvidia's infrastructure, have seen "surging consumer downloads" since launch, and that the two companies intend to deepen their collaboration to optimize workflows, maximize performance, and improve total cost of ownership.
The companies will also explore other technological collaborations, including Nvidia OpenShell for safe deployment and Nvidia Sentry for monitoring agent behavior.
Notably, the chip maker said it will invest $3 billion in Meta's equity offering. The investment comes as part of Meta's new $95 billion funding plan as the tech giant expands its AI infrastructure. AMD and Broadcom have also indicated an interest in the common stock offering, The Latent has reported.
"AI agents represent a new computing paradigm - software that understands our goals, reasons, uses tools and gets work done on our behalf," Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said in the Monday statement.
"Nvidia and Meta are expanding our partnership to optimize the computing infrastructure end to end for capable, efficient and secure AI agents, so Muse can empower billions of people to achieve more and pursue greater ambitions," Huang added.
Nvidia continues to invest heavily in the AI industry. Last week, it participated in AI video platform Higgsfield's Series B financing round. The chip maker is also reportedly in talks to invest hundreds of millions of dollars into Australian AI cloud company Firmus.
Huang has expressed optimism about the broader development of AI. Last month, he dismissed AI extinction fears following comments from former Anthropic researcher Jacob Coxon that the technology could kill humanity by the end of the decade.
