Methodology
The source is Indeed Hiring Lab's public AI Tracker repository. Its daily AI_share_postings field is the share of job postings containing the tracker's reviewed AI-related terms, calculated with a seven-day trailing average. The tracker covers Australia, Canada, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, and the United States.
This chart aggregates each country's available daily observations to an arithmetic monthly mean and timestamps the result on the first day of the UTC calendar month. The committed history includes complete months through July 2026; the current month is excluded on each update.
The tracker is a share of postings on Indeed, not a population-weighted estimate of all hiring demand. Cross-country levels reflect Indeed's market coverage, the language and search terms used in the classifier, occupational mix, posting practices, and the composition of employers using Indeed.
Indeed states that the underlying methodology and historical values can be revised. The chart preserves the upstream values as retrieved and does not infer missing country-month observations, seasonally adjust the monthly mean, or convert posting shares into employment shares or realized hires.

Why is the chart relevant to the AI industry?
Job-posting language is an early demand-side signal for AI skills. Rising shares can show that employers are incorporating machine learning, data science, generative AI, or related requirements into hiring, providing labor-market context alongside charts on AI compute, revenue, spending, and usage.
Can the country lines be compared directly?
Only with care. The denominator is Indeed postings in each country, while language, occupational mix, Indeed penetration, employer composition, and the tracker's term coverage differ. The lines are best used for within-country trends and broad cross-country context, not as a perfectly harmonized global labor statistic.
How are monthly values calculated?
The updater downloads the public AI_posting.csv file, validates the date, country, and percentage fields, excludes the current partial month, and takes the arithmetic mean of all available daily values in each country-month. It does not difference the seven-day-trailing series or treat it as a daily job count.
Does a higher share mean more AI jobs were created?
No. A higher share means AI-related terms appeared in a larger fraction of Indeed postings in that observation period. It does not reveal the number of openings, hires, compensation, applicant quality, or whether a posting's AI requirement was substantive.
